Paul Henry Art
Our school recently looked at the work of an Irish Artist, Paul Henry. He painted in a post impressionist style and was very famous for his depictions of the landscape on The west coast of Ireland.
Many of his paintings have become very famous in recent years as they feature on traditional Irish postcards. Paul Henry was especially renowned for his paintings of life in Connemara and much of his work features traditional Irish cottages and the lives of people who worked by the sea.
Born in Belfast, he lived on Achill Island for many years where much of his famous work was completed. We really enjoyed learning all about this talented Irish Artist and loved recreating some of his more famous pieces of work. Who knows, in years to come perhaps a school will be looking at work we have done as famous Irish Artists!!!!!
